What are conventional single leaf and multi leaf springs ?

Conventional single leaf springs are basic leafs, being tapered at both ends. Whereas, multi leaf springs consists of a number of steel plates of varying lengths, assembled together. 

What are parabolic leaf springs ?

Parabolic leaf springs are springs that are more than 2 in number. These leaf touch only at the center, where they are mounted on the axle, and the sides are fixed to the vehicles. Unlike conventional leaf springs, parabolic leaf springs don't touch each other throughout. Parabolic leaf springs are tapered from the center, i.e they are thickest at the center and thinnest at their ends. Each parabolic leaf acts as a spring in itself and provides greater axle movement of the vehicle.
